I started at Mayhew in the summer of 1994, after my first year at Columbia
College in NYC. On the Island, I've worked as swim counselor, cabin counselor, Project Adventure counselor, and most recently as Lodgemaster. I spent a couple of summers in Link-Up with Jon
Eaton, and I've even handled Island Maintenance for a couple of summers after the much-beloved Don Magaw passed away. Off the Island, I became a Mayhew
Community Outreach Worker full-time in January of 1998 and assumed the Program Director position in December 2002. In September 2004, I left Mayhew to see a bit of the world and try some new
things. |

Since then, I've had the chance to hike to Machu Pichu in Peru, work
for UPS, frame a few houses as a carpenter in Louisiana, learn a bit of blacksmithing in Santa Fe, swim through a dark cave under candlelight in Guatemala, work for an Environmental Center in Alabama, teach
a few kids to play basketball in northern Peru, try out my spanish on the locals in Ecuador, visit the world's highest waterfall in Venezuela, and meet a lot of great people from all around the world, to
name just a few things.

When John Lynch decided to return to school, Jim approached me with the offer to come back to work full-time for Mayhew and
try my hand again as Program Director. How could I resist?I'm excited to be back with the program and I look forward to the many good times and challenges that no doubt lie ahead.
